Creating the perfect balance in your pricing strategy can feel like walking a tightrope. Charge too much, and you risk losing sales; charge too little, and you’ll undervalue your product or service.

  • Conduct a value audit: Speak directly to clients to understand what they value most about your services. If you don’t understand how much value you’re providing to a client, you’re not going to be confident in your price points! Getting regular client feedback not only helps with any future pricing updates, but it also gets you solid case studies and testimonials to close more business.
  • Cost analysis: Review all your operating costs, including salaries, overheads, and miscellaneous expenses. As an agency, you have to know what it costs to get each and every job done.
    You’d be surprised how much time and money you spend on areas of the business that don’t turn a profit! Whether it comes down to operational inefficiencies or services that take too much attention and don’t generate profit, a regular cost analysis will keep your price points profitable.
  • Introduce tiered pricing: Tiered pricing allows clients to pick a package that best fits their needs. This does two VERY important things for your agency:
    The first, it plays off of buyer psychology leading to folks choosing the “responsible” tier, which is virtually always the middle option. This leads to a nice boost in average customer value.
    The second, is this should impact your cost analysis by avoiding scope creep because each service is specifically defined in the package.
  • Routine Assessments and Adaptations: The perfect price for services and what’s included in those services is a moving target. Just because things looked good in January doesn’t mean they’re just as good in October. You need to set regular assessments, at least quarterly, to ensure that your profit centers remain profitable.
